General Motors

Client wanted to celebrate women in STEM. The plan was to interview engineers and scientists as part of a campaign that highlighted the various ways that GM supports the academic pursuits of women and girls within STEM. We were preparing to send our team across the the country. Hotels were booked. Then COVID happened.

We had a major client on board with a large campaign and a positive message with no way to deliver what we promised. If we were going to work together it needed to happen on a much smaller scale, to be finished in 3 weeks, and to compliment GM’s campaign.

Not wanting to lose the opportunity, we shifted gears. The new concept was to challenge expectations about girls interest in science and technology.

Our DP graciously volunteered his home, and his daughter agreed to star. He set up a greenscreen in his house while I acted as VFX supervisor via zoom.

Our team was put under a lot of pressure, under a tight timeline, all while dealing with the fallout of COIVD lockdown and I feel proud of what we delivered.

I was responsible for boarding, creating a shot list based around the dollhouse, VFX Site supervision, tracking, modeling, animating, and compositing various STEM related imaginations for the character of the film. I animated in C4D, comped everything together in Ae where I applied the VFX.
